For sale is a 1978 280z - 65,5xx original miles.

Quick history of the car: This is a 3 owner Z that has been a NY car its entire life. Bought new in Rochester, NY and made its way down to Carmel, NY nearly four years ago. I know for a fact this car has NEVER seen winter (personally know of the 3 owners) and can say this is the cleanest Z I have had to sell or keep for myself.

This car was last owned by a NYZCC club member who passed away tragically last year. The car to be "restored" due to some damage but there wasn't any welding required at all. This is an all original panel Z car that received a fresh paint job recently and is ready for a new owner. The car was ziebart back in the days as you can see from all the plugs and the coating that is in the engine bay. Only the intake and exhaust tip has been changed. The car sounds amazing with the dual ANSA tips!

Please take the time to review through all the pictures and video. I tried to take pictures of all faults and areas that Z guys would want to see on a 65,500 mile car. This is the real deal. This is a stock L28/5 speed car. New shifter bushings were installed and the car shifts like butter. A new battery was installed this week also. She starts right up! Nothing is needed to start enjoying her right away.

What does the car need or slight faults?
As you can see from the pictures, the car is in need of rims as these sat around and were put back on the car after the body shop was complete with the car. A set of slotted mag wheels can be purchased for an additional cost or will be included if asking price is met.

The mast of the power antenna is broken. The motor still works, so this is a swap out for another unit or repair what is there.

The headliner is lightly torn which is barely seen. (see video) Again this isn't a huge deal but if you are looking for perfect I am pointing it out.

Rear hatch is in need of the Datsun and 280Z emblems.

Rear hatch will need new glass seal and reinstall ss trim.

This car needs to go to a good home and someone who is looking for a great Z car! This car is being sold for the Sullivan family who would like for someone to enjoy the car. The asking price is $9200 obo for this VERY clean NY Z car. You will be hard pressed to find a car this clean in the NYC area. If you are a serious buyer please come on out to take a look. Contact me anytime and let us get this car a new home before winter.

If I bought that car, I think I would leave the antenna just the way it is. A constant reminder of having a whole garage drop down around the car.
They did a wonderful job on Tommy's Z. The rims shown here are not the ones in the previous picture (on the trailer). What's the story on that?

Frank

Frank they are the same wheels, I removed the basket piece of the Cragers. They are sitting in the garage if someone wants to restore them and the wheels on the car.

 Let's have a round of applause for Clive, for handling this deal. And a big THANK YOU to all who participated in the long process of restoring Tom's car. It's a good thing to have done so.

Clive, does the new owner have a SULLY's Z license plate?

Thanks Frank.

New owner has ZCCA, NYZCC and CTZCC decals fresh in his hand. I do not have any extra SULLY Z plates, maybe the new owner will like one. I don't want to force the new owner to have the "past" living on with the car.

The car is running great and it looked great parked in the new garage.

I have a spare one. I'll bring it to the Picnic. Maybe we can all have a moment of quiet reflection for the Sullivans when we gather there, and one for Colin.

Remembering Sully and his family this season. Still have the last Christmas card he sent me.
