The August meeting of the CTZCC will be held ONE WEEK EARLY, on Wed/04Aug 2010.

The reason for this one-time change is a very special occasion.

Our German member, Thorsten ("Thor") Link is bringing his family to CT for their summer vacation to meet us! Very Happy Thor and his wife will bring their teenage son, daughter, and daughter's schoolmate to America. Thor and his son will visit Nashville for the ZConvention, where they will meet a few of our members there. Then all five of them will come to CT to meet the rest of the Club.

We are preparing a PICNIC and the MONTHLY MEETING to greet them!

At 5PM on Wednesday, 04Aug, the CTZCC will meet at EXECUTIVE NISSAN in North Haven (Exit 9 off I-91). There, we will be greeted by SMOKIN' WITH CHRIS, a BBQ catering service. Chris will fire up his elegant mobile BBQ truck and trailer and treat us to a delicious smoked BBQ dinner, right there at EXECUTIVE! Their menu is excellent and CTZCC members will eat free, as always.

We will meet Thor and his family and eat BBQ until we start the meeting. This will give Thor the chance to actually attend one of our meetings, meet some of the members he has been communicating with on the CTZCC website, make some new friends and zee our Zs! Very Happy

For you new members, Thor is a TV Moderator in Germany, for a television auto magazine called "STARTKLAR". He test-drives various classic cars around Europe and reports those tests on TV. He is well known and respected in Europe. Last year he decided he needed a 1970 Datsun 240Z as his personal sports car, but they were simply NOT to be found in Germany. He asked the CTZCC for help finding one. Carl Beck found a really nice one for him. Thor restored it and has already started winning awards with the car! Very Happy

Thor speaks excellent English and his kids are trying! We are looking forward to meeting Thor and his family, and he is excited to meet us and see our cars!

Let's plan to turn out in big numbers for this very special meeting!

Frank

Great...
I could most likely make this one. A week early falls into my schedule, not to mention an earlier meet time.

Ah, yeah! I think you guyz mean "Mozartkugeln". Seems if I'm a late bloomer. Did you know that these eating sweet things are a speciality of our friends from Austria? May be the immigration will arrest me when they find these tasty balls in our luggage.

Shocked

Oooh. I have a final exam coming up around that time, but I don't know if I have class that Wednesday. I might be able to make it.

We won't let you forget, Steve. There will be frequent reminders (like this one) Wink

This will be a fun time, which none of us will want to miss. Thor is very much looking forward to zeeing our Zs. His family is being very brave to come here and meet us, and we're going to help them enjoy themselves.

I think there is no such thing as a Z club in Germany. Maybe I'm wrong? But I know for sure there is no German Z club as large or as friendly as ours! Laughing
