My friend has picked up another Z for his collection. I don't have many pictures of it but it looks really nice.

What a clean looking ZX! Was it a local find or did he get it over the internet?

Semi local, about 2 hours drive. The car was near Philadelphia.

Yes very clean looking, I like the wheels and silver paint. I want to say this car has about 70k miles on it, non-turbo and 5 speed.

He's killing me John.

At least he lets me drive them. We get together now and then to play cars. I'll take one and he takes one and off we go, great way to spend 1/2 a day!

Jay,

Here's a hypothetical question: What if your friend offered you the car for the same price he paid for it, would you? Or is there no Z that can ever replace what you lost? It looks like your friend has a few fun toys to play with. Enjoy. :)

Howie

Howie, I know no other Z could have replaced the one I sold in 1985.
I could have owned at least 2 or 3 of them during the 2 decades "my" car and I were apart, but I felt somehow "related" to #2807 and just never wanted a different one.

I have a feeling Jay might get to drive his old Z again someday, and hey...ya' just never know what the future holds. 8)

I want to see pictures of his tears the first time he sees it again. I cried like a kid, sitting alone in a farmyard driveway, the first time I laid eyes on FLSHBK again. No apologies, no shame. One of the happiest moments in my lifetime.

Hi Howie,

At this time I'm not really in a "buying" position, so I think I'd pass on the opportunity if it presented itself. Under different circumstances I think I'd consider it. But either way, getting to drive them every now and then is really fun. And I like sharing them here because you appreciate them too, and who doesn't like pictures of Z's?

Like Frank said, MY Z will always be the 260 I sold. I have a connection to that one that's hard to explain. He's got more hope than I do about owning it again someday, I'd be very surprised if that happened. I'm really glad it found a good home though.

At one point I saw the for sale ad, I think it was a 1979. Haven't yet seen it in person but it sure looks great in the photos. I didn't ask what he paid either. I think the ad had it listed at $16,500.
