Saturday at about 2:30 my stepmother, who was my other mother for 37 years, was struck and killed by a car. The lady was her friend and also ran over own son who lived across the street. He is in RI hospital in critical condition. She was married to my father for 37 years, but I knew her for over 40. Just lost my father this past November, and his veterans ceremony was scheduled for May 1st. Now they will be laid to rest together on May 1st. Right now I am just beside myself.......how this could have happened? I just can't believe this, It's like a living nightmare.

Tragic indeed. My condolences to you and your family and to the poor lady who was driving. I can't imagine being responsible for the life of my friend and for running over my own kid at the same time. You must all be going crazy together.

Get a lawyer to provide for your family's welfare while you grieve. You certainly don't need to be trying to deal with insurance concerns while your family is in such distress.

You were blessed to have known your stepmom that long, and to have had your dad in your life as well. Some kids lose them early and grow up a very different life. It's always hard to bury our parents. Your joint ceremony in May will be both poetic and heartbreaking at the same time. I'm glad you have Patty and God to lean on during this trying time.

Frank

Paul, this has been on my mind for weeks now as we approach the projected date. With the world in turmoil over the C-19 virus, most funerals are being canceled. Are your plans carrying on for 01May as originally scheduled?
Frank
