I know it's been a while since you've heard from me but it's that time of year once again for the Shoreline Mini-Cruise! I'm still working out the final details but briefly, we will meet at the same commuter lot in Old Lyme but this time head north up the shoreline for amazing water views and scenic vistas. Cruise ends as always with a nice dinner.

2nd Annual FUN RUN SHORELINE MINI CRUISE

When: Saturday Sept. 28 (rain date Sunday, Sept. 29), meet at 4:30pm and head out at 5pm sharp

Where: Meet at the commuter lot at exit 70 off I-95 (easy to get to coming down I-395 or Rt. 9 as well)

Mini-Cruise: Head north cruising through scenic locations such as Groton Long Point, Mystic, and Stonington Borough. Turn-by-turn direction sheets will be provided at the start.

Final Stop: Dinner at a location to be decided but with good weather, hopefully we can eat outside as before with another good view of Long Island Sound!

Like last year, the mini-cruise will be about about 30-40 minutes, so we'd be sitting down for a nice casual dinner around 5:45. Feel free to relax and talk Z's as long as you like and it won't be a super late evening for those with a drive back home.

Please RSVP by replying to this post or sending me an e-mail: jw(dot)vandeusen(at)gmail(dot)com

Thanks and hope to see you there!

Hi Jeff.

Good to finally hear from you. Some of us have been what ever happened to you. Right now it looks good for me and the wife for Sept. 28.

Thanks for setting it up.

I'm about 90% sure I can make it. My wife and I are on vacation that week. We are going to a Class Reunion Cocktail Party the night before (also our 39th wedding anniversary). The reunion dinner is the 28th but we will not be attending. Unless something else happens, we should be there.

How can you have a 39th wedding anniversary with a 28 year old wife?

I'm looking at this Z event with interest. It sounds like a great idea. There's a lot of family stuff going on and some might be unavoidable, so we'll have to list as a maybe.

Happy, happy, Rich and Kathleen!

It's a "go" for us!

Both days are noted on our calendar in case of inclement weather on Saturday. Looking forward to saying "howdy" to all. Use cell 203-687-8053 for last minute info.

Alan

Hey folks!

Just 10 days to go until the 2nd annual shoreline mini-cruise! So by my count, we now have 5 cars coming and a total of 10 people. Models represented are 240Z, 280Z, my 300ZX and (2) 350Z's. Now if we could only get a 260Z and a 370Z, we'd pretty much have the full family reunion!

I've driven the route on a 'dry run' and this years' drive time is just about 1 hour. So by meeting at 4:30 with a roll time of 5pm sharp, that will put us at the restaurant in Mystic at about 6:00. I was not able to get the water view location I had originally intended but the venue will be great nonetheless! They are familiar with car groups and have previously hosted Corvettes, MG's, Porsches, among others.

Any others wishing to attend, please RSVP by replying to this post and we'll see you a week from this Saturday.

Just 3 days to go until this years' Shoreline Mini Cruise!

All is set and I'm planning on seeing John, Karl, Rich, Alan and wives at the Old Lyme commuter lot this Saturday evening.
Just a heads-up if anyone still wants to join, the reservations at the restaurant are for 12 and we currently have 10 people, so reply here ASAP and the first 2 (or couple) are in!

Here's a link to the menu at the restaurant:

See you there!

Sounds like room for 4 then . . . . . it was a fun event last year, the area around Mystic is real nice. 8)

Thanks Jeff and Kira for leading the way through a part of our State often overlooked. I never knew there was a town named Jordan, or how quaint Mystic really is. Good company, wonderful food, and a fun drive!
