Me too!

The terms "good" and "original" are somewhat mutually exclusive in regards to the cargo deck carpets. My original black carpet sun-bleached within 8 years of being new and has been replaced a couple times. That big hatch window lets a lot of sun focus onto that poor little carpet and, if it's a black interior, the color fades pretty quickly. Maybe other color interior carpets don't fade as easily?

There are some very good aftermarket carpet sets for these cars and they actually look better than original, but I fear in the end you will have to chooZe btwn "good" and "original".

Others may disagree, and some might actually have garages full of "good original" carpet and jute sets for these cars.

But I kinda doubt it.

Go aftermarket. As Frank said there's a lot of great repro's.
An original will be great but like mine it also has vintage smell/sun fade/stains/mouse poop and who knows what else.

I bought replacement carpets from Motorsport Auto years ago. They were decent quality and have held up pretty well, especially now that the car is garaged. The sun will take its toll on the black rear deck carpets as Frank said.

Just checked, MSA rear deck carpet is $110.

Regards,

Or you go down to the carpet guy and ask if he has a remnant so big and get the scissors out. Probably would be thicker and better quality then these aftermarket car carpets. As far as the bead around, local seamstress, $50 maybe. I was thinking this for myself and just sharing. 8)
