Caps off and thanks to JohnnyZ Kish for planning, and Jim Kinsella for hosting, a Sunday morning fun run to JHK Garage in Beacon Falls.

It was great seeing a few CTZCC members again on a chilly morning. For me, coming from South Meriden, the ride to and from on CT Rt 42 from Cheshire to Beacon Falls at the "olde Route 8" was a blast. Coffee and donuts were the icing on the cake (no pun intended).

Alan

This was a fun time and I, too, thank both John and Jim for making it happen. Our member Jim Kinsella's immaculate shop (no dirt, anywhere ~ not even dust) was exactly the comfortable siZe for the 6 of us who gathered to haunt him with our 1,000 questions. Jim is legendary in CT for being a perfectionist car painter, and several of our CTZCC Club Zs bear his award-winning craftsmanship.

We saw several outstanding cars in different stages of progress in Jim's shop; a bones-bare XKE roadster, a Porsche RSR and a perfect (now) Alfa Romeo drew the majority of our attention.

In appreciation of Jim's hospitality, we didn't break anything, spilled no coffee on any of his work projects, and presented him with a 3-quart Stein for the liquid of his choice. It had a rubber tire around the bottom so it wouldn't slide away during hard cornering. We also took him to lunch and stuffed him.

Like Bob Sharp, Jim Kinsella has been a master of his trade so long, he has about a billion stories to share about any "car" subject you could bring up. We were supposed to be there only 3hrs but most of us were still with Jim 5hrs later. I think he got nothing done today but he still seemed to enjoy himself.

I took a few pictures, but please forgive the "roadmap" size they post with:

Great "world size" pictures. Love the dog carrier/warmer. Sure wish there was a easy/simple way for pictures to be automatically scaled to fit. I can't figure it out either Frank.

Honestly! We should hire a billboard company to post our pictures. :x

I had the same issue with picture sizing.

Frank, see if you can play with the selection of your picture size in your computer's picture application. I use Microsoft Picture Manager. I go to "picture" then "resize" and go to a drop down menu that gives me choices of picture sizes for web and email. This will reduce the size and pixels so they don't come out "billboard" size. I've attached two pics from Sunday. Let's see if I didn't screw them up either!

OK, I'll try this:

Nope, obviously not. I've got everything turned "down" as far as it will go and I'm using every option Safari offers me. No joy. You'll just have to enjoy my pictures one square foot at a time.

Wait, let me try this:

Naw, nothing works. I can transfer photos off the web onto this website, but when I try to transfer them from my photo library onto this website, I either get a rejection notice that they exceed the volume size, or they print like tablecloths.

I (we) never had this problem with the old website. Many of us are now unable to post photos when we want to. I have an entire library of old pics from past events which nobody has ever seen because I can't get them to 'stick' on here. It's frustrating. :?

Frank are you using an Apple computer ?
There must be some photo program in there somewhere.
I don't think it would be a part of Safari, that is just the browser fro the internet.

As much as I like to see my mug in the transmission tunnel of the Jaguar It's just going to scare the denizens of this site.
I use Photobucket to post pictures. It's free and easy. It's also an app on the iPhone.
