Great! I'm planning to go again this year. :D

Let's set up another caravan for that Friday, July 6th for those of us CTZCC folks that will be heading to the event.

OK with me. I'm having my engine swapped out this year so I'll have to time it right to make sure I actually have a working Z to drive there.
And back.
Hopefully.

Planning on being there, just not sure which car.
Maybe 2 cars, possibly.

Would like to go to this event but, my Z has been in the shop most of the winter. I brought it in for an oil change and minor vibration. They replaced the rotors, brakes, tires and did a 4 wheel alignment. The car was then literally bouncing when I drove it. Would not drive in a straight line. Brought it back, They replaced a steering control arm and shocks. Now it was back to the way I started, still with minor vibration. I had 2 tires go flat within 3 weeks at $200 each. Six months to get a warranty refund. And now, the vibration is getting worse. When I been driving for 5 minutes, the rear starts to rumble and the whole car shakes. Two minutes later everything becomes quiet again. Research tells me it could be a CV joint.

So no long trips for me until I get this sorted. Hope to see you guys later in the season.

It's not that far from you either, Jay. People come from Canada and Rhode Island and from down south (ANY excuse to get out of the South in July!) and it's just non-stop laughter and good food and great cars. One year it rained so hard overnight all the road grime got washed completely off my car and the cars next to mine got their window decals washed off! The next morning it dawned clear and bright and it was an outstanding day to caravan down to The Glen together.

(John, do you still have my video of that Glen caravan somewhere?)

The laps at the Glen are worth the whole trip. Speeds vary from 40mph to 100mph but the real thrill is to push your Z thru the sweeping turns at 70-80 and get a little drift out of your street tires.

The hotel is nice and serves real food for breakfast and there's never been a security problem with the cars. The car show is full of pretty girls and cars from every era and they sometimes even have some exotic motorcycles. Good picnic dinner over looking the river and after-dinner get togethers if you still have any energy left at the end of the day. Your dad would love this event. They do this every year and donate their proceeds to a different charity organization each year, so not only do they throw a great party but they are good guys as well.

Highly recommended by those of us who have been there, done that several years running.

Frank

Not looking good for me this year . . . . . after going the last 4 years straight.
I am having hand surgery in a couple of weeks and I am not sure I will be able to drive well enough by then. :? :(

DANG! :( I hope it's not your shootin' hand.

How about your co-driver?

In fact yes it is . . . my right hand. (How did you know I used to shoot competitively ? )
My co-driver was questionable anyway . . . . I had toyed with the idea of 2 cars (75 & 96) but this will pre-empt that. :x

I have shot since I was 8 yrs old. I can quickly identify life-time shooters by their calm demeanor, their steady hand, the steely look in their eye, their confident stance and they way they yell "HUH?" each time someone says something. 8)

Would you need a ride there?
