Well another piece of East Coast Datsun race history heads to the left side. Vinny Bedini recently sold his Bob Sharp/Paul Newman 200SX to Adam Carolla in CA. Adam now has quite a few Datsun's in his collection, Bob Sharp/Paul Newman cars.
Vinny owned the car for a number of years, so before it went West he went through the SX, rebuilding the motor, suspension, brakes, typical Vinny "I ain't sending any junk out there".
It was quite a deadline that Vinny had to meet before the transporter arrived yesterday, personally making sure it was tucked safely into the transporter to CA.This car won just about every race it was entered in under Bob Sharp Racing.
Below some photos of the 200SX and it's departure.

Great photos and story Colin! I'm sure it is off to a good home where it will be cared for and appreciated.

:D Ahhhhh.
Tazio Nuvolari would be very proud of you.

Those cars had dual-stage superchargers with the most complicated drive mechanism you could imagine. They were the only cars which had any chance of beating the incredible Mercedes and Auto Union "Silver Arrow" teams of the 1930s.

Man I love the wheels on the 200. What brand are they?
I hated those cars when they were new in street form but a racing version gets me going.
I love any prewar racing autos thanks for the Bugatti pics.
Being from the Bridgeport area I'm always loking for Locomobile info.
They were made where Seaside Park is now.
Most people haven't heard of the brand but they were competitors to RollsRoyce and the like.
They also won the 1908 Vanderbilt cup race.

OK Frank riddle me this, how do they run the spark plug wires through those tiny holes in the dash?
Unless the connector ends are put on after I can't figure it out.
