Thank you all who have contributed. it means a lot. how ironic is it that i am going blind and work in a field that requires sight?? but hey when the day comes and i can't drive or do my job i will always have the great memories of driving dangerous Z on some very awesome trips with some very awesome people. also my contribution to the club with the new logo will live on for awhile i hope. you guys rock! :D

Ok guys finally got my email back from the foundation. You can send your checks to the address below. I'm assuming you would make the check payable to the Foundation Fighting Blindness. When you send your check I would write on the check it's for me Michael Tubiak. Thanks again for all the support. When I begin training for the marathon I will keep you all posted on my progress.

As for cash donators I was thinking maybe one person in the club could collect the donations and then deposit the money and write out a check. Just an idea.

Here is my story that aired on NBC 30 CT News.

http://www.nbcconnecticut.com/video/#!/ ... /267056111

Made my goal of $2500 in 20 minutes after it aired. One person donated $2500 in memory of their son. It was very touching. I am upping my goal to $5000. Let's keep it going! Thank you everyone!

Hey Mike:

Congratulations on the NBC story and on exceeding your initial fundraising goal!

I agree - let's keep the momentum going! I've just added your story to the home page of our website - I hope it helps raise awareness of your battle against RP and your efforts to conquer it.

All of your friends at the CTZCC are behind you 100%, so let's do anything we can to help spread the word.

- Jim

I just watched this story (finally). You're doing a great thing Mike for those that follow in your footsteps. We are proud to call you one of our own! I'm always impressed by the calibre of people in this club. People like you and Liam prove that life is not about what happens to you, it's about how you choose to react to your circumstances. You guys are CTZCC's "warriors" and I am proud to know you and call you my friend.

Ross

Thank you very much Ross. I'm just doing what my mom always told me. Just enjoy life and take it one day at a time. I could easily just tap out now and just stay home and do nothing but why?? I wanna do what I can do while I can still do it. I'm proud to be a member of this club and I am blown away that you would even mention me with Liam. That man is a hero. He has done so much for himself and of course our country. But we definitely both have our handicaps. It's an honor to be your friend and one of the CTZCC warriors. I'll give you all my number so you can keep track of me while I run the NYC marathon. This will definitely be my greatest challenge. Thanks again Ross and everybody in the CTZCC!
