First and foremost, thanks to everyone that is associated with this club. You are the most helpful and accommodating group around and I thank you for it. I'm looking forward to meeting you all and sharing my limited Z knowledge and my abundant Z love with you all. With that said, WHERE ARE THE Z31's OUT THERE? Love the older Z's (classic styling, sexy lines, etc), but my gen Z is amazing, especially in a turbo. Comfort, ride, and response ...what’s not to love (besides digital dash issues, MAF issues, electric issues, etc). Enough of the rant... I am a prior owner of the Z31 (1985 NA) that had many issues. Not to be deterred, I embarked on Z31 ownership once more. This time, I figured that I would go big. So, I recently purchased a 1984 300zx 50th Anniversary Edition. It is a nice car; just over 50,000 original miles and loads of documentation. The car has been a fun addition to my life and I'm looking to get it into prime condition. I will be refurbishing the suspension and wheels soon. Looking forward to seeing you all soon at an event!!!!

-Chris

Well Chris, you're gonna be VERY happy to hear that we have 31 other Z31s in this Club ~ yours makes #32! :D So you should have no trouble making Z Buddies here.

WELCOME ABOARD !!! It is always a pleasure to meet a new-join, and it is especially rewarding to meet Z folks from nearby states. As I mentioned in my Welcome Letter to you, we now have more than 365 registered members in the CTZCC, and more than 300 of them live here in CT. New York (including LI) lends us 50 members, and some live there on LI with you.

There are some other great clubs nearby, including the one-year-old NYZCC. The PreZident of that club is one of our members, also.

Our first monthly meeting this year is on the second Wednesday in April, in Old Saybrook CT ~ just north of you. The Port Jeff ferry should be running by then, to save you a trip thru The City. Or, you could hook up with some of the other members who live near the Apple and cruise in with them.

You're going to have a really good time here with us.

That's a beautiful ZX (and a good Intro, too)! Great to have you aboard!

You're going to have a great time in here.

HEY EVERYBODY ~ SAY HELLO TO CHRIS! (And all you Z31 owners, Sound Off!)

Hey Chris, welcome. :D I have a 88 z31 N/A, just because, but if I was to chose a Z31, it would be a turbo. My 3 favorite Z31's are the Anniversary edition, any 87-89 turbo, or the Shiro, which is a rare find. Of course I love my 240 over anything, but I do appreciate all Z's. I also have plenty of Z31 parts if needed. Well enjoy the ride.

Welcome Chris! Nice Z31! Mine is still in the works. I'm rebuilding the engine but I still love it. You have plenty of Z31 support here.

WHAT???!!! NOT ANOTHER CHRIS!!!!!

Just raggin' on ya, Chris, glad to have you with us. And I love that car,
she looks stunning and I have got to meet her in person. The side
window louvers-- original or aftermarket? I don't remember seeing
any of those before............

Several of us who were around when God created dirt will swear to our
death (in my case 969 like Methuselah) that the older the Z the better;
but gradually coming to realize that, like "humies," a family is comprised
of several or many members who may be different in some respects,
but are valuable and to be loved nonetheless. So it is with Z Cars and
their owners.

Thanks for the replies! Happy to hear from the Z31 owners out there. As for the louvers, as far as I know they were installed by the dealer (I'm the third owner of this Z). I was conflicted about keeping them and I'm still in the process of making up my mind. Interestingly, notice the badges. There are a total of four badges (2 on the fenders and two on the pillars). I've never seen this before and apparently this is how it came from the dealer. The more I look at the car, the more I love the look. It sets it apart from the rest.

Completely unique.

Do those side louvers hinder your rear vision much?

Hi, Chris, Rick back atcha.

If you decide to part with the quarter window louvers, I will be glad to
take them off your hands for a price.*

*I won't charge much to take them off your hands.

All kidding aside, don't just toss them. I got first dibs; we can talk.
They should also fit a '79, don't you think? How 'bout it, Paul?

We've never had a complaint about RDZ! You won't regret this.

They've forgotten more about the Z31 than most of us ever learned.

You're not planning on driving the car after they salt the roads, are you?

Frank

What are you having done to the Z31? Definitely store it for the winter. My Z was pretty good in the snow( has LSD ) but black ice got me twice. I couldn't afford a back up car at the time.
