Looks like August 17 is the official reveal date.

I agree. This is probably the best possible retro look while adhering to modern safety and techno standards. Clean, sexy, no stupid non functional vents or scoops......I'd love to own one, but probably not in yellow (oops, sorry Colin).

I could live with the V-6 (I would prefer a non- turbo) as it does provide a lower engine profile than the straight six. I can only wonder though how that twin turbo will be "shoe horned" into that small Z body. You probably won't be able to find a place to put a "hide a key" under the hood (aka 300ZX TT) And I can't imagine the difficulty in doing engine servicing and the labor costs associated with it.

OK, so I'm spoiled having owned a first gen Z for 50 years where I can actually see my garage floor on either side of that straight 6. I guess those days of DIY repairs are over.

The 400Z sure is pretty though!

l agree it's an improvement, and probably the best-possible compromise btwn old school S-30 design and modern safety requirements. (Oh wait ~ that's exactly what John said).

I hope it has a bright future.

I'm sure you are right on that John, I wouldn't imagine diy repairs would be many on the new Z. Expensive parts too I'm sure, but that has been the case with the 370z too, I remember shopping common parts at one point out of curiosity to get a feel for what a "project 370z" would look like..... It got pricey fast!

Nothing beats working on an S30. When I pulled the engine for rebuilding I had less than 3 hours in it, and I was taking my time and working alone. All cars should be that easy, and dare I say satisfying, to own and maintain.

The other day I saw an article showing a new Z spotted wearing camo in Arizona. My phone was acting squirrely that day and wouldn't let me share the link, and now I can't find it haha

Anyway, it appeared to have a modified grille that divided it into upper and lower halves, reminiscent of a 240/260z front bumper.

So there you go Frank, Nissan heard you and gave you one less reason to not like the new car.
