I lost one of my heroes on December 7th.

General Chuck Yeager was the greatest pilot of them all. The first man to fly faster than the speed of sound, the WWII fighter Ace that shot down a Messerschmitt fighter jet in a prop-driven P-51 Mustang, the hero who defined a certain quality that all the hot-shot flyboys of the post-war era aimed to achieve.....Chuck Yeager was the right stuff.

I strongly recommend you read his autobiography. It's a keeper for sure.
