Apparently gravity is stronger in Germany than it is here.
Best wishes to our Z-buddy Thorsten Link in Germany, who managed to break himself up quite well in a common household fall. He's in a lot of pain as you read this and it could take a long time for the broken bones to mend. The accident didn't involve his Z.

I called him and he's hurting but sends his best regards to all his Z friends here in the States.
Frank

Apparently he was working in his attic and stepped backwards thru the open pull-down ladder hatch. His elbow caught the frame as he fell thru, which helped to slow him down a bit. The force on his elbow shattered his clavicle and did some other lesser damage.
That's is shifting arm, too.

I went and looked at my pull-down attic stairs and tried to picture falling backwards thru it to the floor below. OUCH. Not a good plan. That could have broken his neck (again), which he did a few years ago in a motorcycle accident. The man is a walking miracle.

Sonja, you should keep your newlywed husband on a leash!

Frank

Wow! That's scary! What is so weird is I was up in my attic just a few hours ago, pulling out our rather heavy artificial Christmas tree box, realizing a bit late that I was about to do the same thing. Luckily I crouched down in time to engage my feet on the upper rungs of the ladder.

I hope you get healed up soon Thor!

Wishing Thor quick recovery. JohnnyZ: Glad you're ok! I remember those days. For the last 20 or so we have enjoyed fresh cut trees from local growers. One event comes to mind...Son Patrick and I were carrying our treasure out of a tree farm when I stepped in a hole. The top of the tree snapped "like a twig". So...we started all over again, searching for another perfect thing of nature. This time paying more attention to our steps!

I guess Christmas season can be dangerous!

Surviving it can be one of your greatest presents. Years ago I knew a man who fell two stories while decorating his house. He broke his neck and paralyzed himself for life.

'Tis the season to be careful.
