Post subject:  Barrett-Jackson Scottsdale Orange 1972 Z
Barrett-Jackson didn't quite meet my expectations when I was there Jan. 14, 2018. It primarily consisted of Chevy, Chevy, Chevy, Chevy... Ford, Ford, Ford... MoPar, MoPar... Mercedes, Lambo, Ferrari... etc. and only four Datsun Z's (1972- 1983). Under impressed. Highest price Z went for $40G.

I'm rawtha impressed that you hang out at Barrett Jackson. Did you make the trip expressly for that reason, or were you there on other business? Hey Howie, you're not trying to auction off your perfect ZX, are you? :evil:

So this guy sank $30 into the restoration of his '72 240 and took home $10,000 profit, huh? I think I might have wanted to just keep the car, instead.

You're easily impressed Frank. :P Combined B-J Auction (a bucket list item) with family visit in Scottsdale. Most of the "restored" vehicles paint jobs were shiny but very.... Earl Scheib, Maaco-ee. Very enamelie looking. I remember the days of the thick looking enamel paints but I wouldn't pay 40-60G for it unless it was original paint with its original patina. The "correct" color and code paints nowadays just don't cut it for me. :evil: Sorry. The retro vehicles paint jobs..... a completely different story. WOW!

I'm thankful the ZX is sleeping and didn't hear your comment. :shock: Shame on you sir. :mrgreen: NEVER, EVER, EVER!!!!!

Sounds like a great trip Howie! If I went, I would make sure I left my credit cards and checkbook home! - Too much I candy! :shock: Wow! $40K for that Z - impressive!

I'm hoping some of this mild weather and tomorrow's rain will wash away the salt and sand again and give me a change to stretch the old girls legs a bit. I usually like to take her out a couple of times a month just to keep things lubed up and a short road trip makes it even better.

Hmm, I might even try running my Z a bit. :P

Too much candy can wreck havoc with the waistline. It's already getting difficult sliding be-hind the wheel. :mrgreen: And it's always a good idea to take Z ladies out during the winter months to potentially reap some rewards, or prevent issues from occurring, further on down the road. 8) :lol: :thumbs_up:
