Back in the days when I sprawled out on the living room carpet to watch B&W TV, the first 55 seconds of this thrilling theme ("Song of the High Seas") was the siren call for a half-hour of combat footage from the great series, "Victory at Sea". The family knew I loved this show and called me wherever I was in the big house, each time it came on. Closing my eyes and listening to it today floods my decks with too many childhood memories to list, among them my father (a veteran of several of those actual battles) narrating from behind me, sitting in his easy chair. Best heard thru stereo headphones, so you can appreciate the actual background which 1950s TV couldn't convey. Any memories? https://youtu.be/deRGtKu6E78 |

All the Music Scores sounded the same back then, like it was one big production. |
