The television ad being run by Maserati really "moves me".... to run for the remotes "mute" button. It starts out with the sound of an exhaust that sounds like it's going through a coffee can or two.  It's TERRIBLE sounding.  It definitely can use a more throaty and melodic system to replace the present raspy, sore throat rattle it makes. :? Sounds more like a Yugo with a hole in the muffler. Boo! Hiss!

I haven't seen it, but the newer Masers have 450hp v8s in them and dual exhaust, so I know they sound nothing like the old classic Masers of my day.

3.5L DOHC 220hp straight 6, dual ignition, individually tuned headers, dual exhaust, three dual-choke Webers, straight pipes back to little Abarth collectors. I don't think I've ever heard a car which sounded better than the old 3500GT and A6G Maserati, so no effort any V8 would make could come close. Old front-engined Masers are nearly my favorite cars in the world.

There were only four(4) of those magnificent Maserati AG6GCS coupes made during the 1950s. Three of them are in Europe and command all the media attention. The 4th one is hiding here, in CT, and passed me on Rte15 Southbound thru Hamden one afternoon about 12 years ago. I wish we had a Smilie of a pounding heart.

This link should allow you to hear the Coffee can. Annoying :x at first (and some sort of throttle hesitation), but then it sounds a lot better, possibly even good, 8) after the first 5 seconds.

The "2 is better than 1" Maserati add is better than those any day if you know what I mean. Hubba Hubba! :P
Watch a Ranger's game and you will see it.
