For the past 3-4yrs I've held my fingers to the pulse for Bowie to make another live appearance anywhere. I wanted to surpriZe my kid with a couple tickets to see him perform live, if I could afford the airfare to and from the venue. But the Thin White Duke was in seclusion and simply didn't give concerts anywhere, as you all know. I always pictured him living in London or in Africa or SwitZerland in happy retirement.
When he died I learned he spent his last years living just 60 miles down the road in Manhattan  I even knew someone who lived in his apartment building and bumped into him occasionally. Had I known all that, I would have SOMEhow arranged for at least a live meeting. :?
He was a weird duck, but I liked some of his music and it would have been worthwhile to hunt him down at least once and give him my autograph. 8)

Saw Bowie 3 times . . . Ziggy, Thin white Duke and Let's Dance era's. Every time was perfect.
Saw the Eagles just this past summer and they were also perfect.
Many if the older performers are still touring and most that I have seen are still very good.
Don't pass up any chance to see one of them . . . . it may be your last.

Just read that Sting and Peter Gabriel are touring this summer . . . . . hope they come near enough to me. 8)
