Our member Robert Maxwell introduced us to the great folks at Miller Nissan, who have become active and gracious hosts for our monthly meetings for the past many years. Robert (Z-Man-1) is a wild character, loved by all who meet him. He has been instrumental in several CTZCC functions and decisions and even helped Rick make decisions about how to get Lucky#13 down to Franklin TN to show it for ZCon the first year #13 was "rediscovered". Several years ago Robert moved to NC but has remained in occasional touch with us. Once he even drove up to Miller Nissan in time to arrive in the parking lot during our meeting there! No advance warning, no communication; he just drove 700 miles to arrive like anyone else would. That's the kind of guy he is.

During our meeting at Miller last week, I called Robert to let him know we (and his former workmates) were thinking of him and talking about him behind his back. He didn't pick up so we left a message on his machine together.

I got a call back from him this morning, explaining that at the exact time of my call, he had been sorting out a 2-car collision btwn his Z and a brand-spanking-new Dodge Charger. A woman ran a stop sign and he T-boned her, almost totally destroying her 200-mile-new Charger. She was towed away. He picked up the nose pieces of his Z and drove it home

He had intended to repaint the car over the winter and repair some stone chips on the nose, but her insurance is now paying for a new front end and body-wide paint job. 8)

No injuries, but knowing how he loves his Z, that woman should consider herself very fortunate indeed that he didn't strangle her there in that lonely crossroad and just drive away.
