Does anyone know the laws for us 25+ year old cars regarding catalytic converters? Do we need to run them?

Cars earlier than 25 years old dont get tested for emmissions so Im going to say no. You can pretty much do whatever you want after 25 years in a Z LOL

I've heard of visual inspections, so I'm not quite sure how it works. I think i'll just run a hi flow cat.

No emission inspection of any kind on 25+

http://www.dmv.org/ct-connecticut/smog- ... -Be-Tested

It is different if the vehicle is new to CT. if the vehicle is coming from out of state then there is a vehicle inspection, although I don't believe the cats matter then either

Both of MY Z's were from NY. For passenger plates they check to see if the VIN on the car matches the one you wrote down on the form and check to see if you have a seatbelt. For early american they just check to see if the VIN matches. Quick and painless

Filipe you already have plates . . . . all you will do is send in the renewal $$$ when it's due. They will never ask to look again after you got your plates.

Also, if the car is pre OBD2, (before 96 most vehicles) as long as the physical cat is there, but who's to know there is anything inside. Most Jap cars, if you gut the cat will still pass emissions. BTW, all the idiots are doing is replacing carbon with sulfur. I'd rather breath carbon. Notice the clouds above cities...........decades ago it was black, now it is yellow.
