I love photography, and I love cars. I have a friend who shares the same passion. Together, we formed The Drive. We shoot cars during the warmer months and make videos during the colder ones. We're on Facebook, YouTube and Instagram. In this thread I will be showcasing some of our work. Not as a "Hey look at us, we're awesome!" but rather as a: "Hey, I know you guys are more than just Z people, and can surely appreciate these sweet rides."

If you would like some shots of your Z (or other cars), don't hesitate to ask.

Filipe

["Corvette at Patriot Place"]

Not so.

A "1963 STING RAY Split-Window coupe at Patriot Place".

It was the very first Sting Ray (two words) ever. The last "Corvette" left the production line in 1962. Later versions would become the STINGRAY (one word).

Such cars are infrequently offered for sale today, and all near or over $100,000.

Isn't that like saying a Nismo 370Z isn't a Z?

Why does the car have a Corvette badge then?

This is a '62 Corvette.

This is a '63 Sting Ray.

The car you show has also been customiZed by the addition of two extra taillights (3+3). His actually look like backup lamps (that wouldn't matter anyway, since vision to the rear was ZERO in the split window coupe). That was a very popular trick used in California in 1963-64, but the car came with 2+2 taillights from the factory. In the song "Deadman's Curve" the verse, "..and all the Jag could see were my six taillights..." told that Jan had modified his Sting Ray by adding another light.

But a Sting Ray is a corvette isn't it? Not dissimilar to: a square is a rectangle, but a rectangle is not a square.

The first Cobras were AC cars, but I suppose you call them ACs, too?

The Viper is a Dodge. What do you call that? The Charger was a Dodge, but nobody calls it anything but a Charger.

The XK-E, the DB-4, the Cheetah, the GT-40, the Avanti, the GT-350, the Grand National, the SST, the Concord, the P-51 Mustang, the Spitfire, the Hummer, the Ninja, the Black Shadow, the Katana, the STING RAY.....they all have corporate names, but they deserve the distinction of being identified for their unique properties and achievements.

You can go thru life calling it whatever you want.
