I like the BRE version, but I still think the C pillar is pretty funky

Looks a bit forced but if by some stroke of luck they decide to make it, itll probably lose some of the design clutter

That rear pillar looks like an odd combination of an old B210 and the new Mini Cooper 2-seat coupe. It grows on me the longer I look at it. Strange attraction.

For some reason, this car makes me want to see it airborne down some narrow dirt roads thru the Finnish or Swedish forests. I can picture it as a Rallye car more easily than I can see it stuck in NYC traffic.

Is Datsun really coming back? Does Nissan have the guts to go there?

I love it. It is obviously modern but also obviously a Nissan (Datsun). I'm a little cool on the C pillar design, but I love the round headlights!

It seems like all cars today have followed the Koreans with design, the same swoopy look. I hate it. Ford, Dodge, Hyundai, KIA, Toyota, they all look the same. Less IS more with classic automotive styling.

Interesting that this concept is being touted as a direct competitor to the BRZ/FRS and having the tried and true 2.5 liter four. It's a great engine and very capable of good performance, say in the 225-300 hp range, but I was betting that that engine would be the heart of the next Z.

The next Z concept is supposed to be unveiled next month at the Tokyo motor show. Perhaps Nissan has a surprise up their sleeve with a new V6 for it. If it goes in this direction with styling, I will be a happy guy!

Long live Datsun. :-)

Datsun is already back but unfortunately in emerging markets only.

That's OK ~ that means we can still buy Datsun key fobs, decals, body script, emblems, etc. I'm sort of excited about zeeing what this new market might mean for our Z cars.

That BRE IDX has definitely grown on me... but Im also a 510 guy. Could use some better wheels. I just hope they put a prober manual in it and some reasonable power- oh yea and not too much extra junk and electronics in it.

There are a bunch of pictures that have popped up from the Cars and Coffee events out here in Cali and they do look better in "real pictures"
