AARRRRRRRGGHHH! :x NOOOOOO!

He calls it a 1972, but it has a 1970/71 hatch (sprayed over with powder blue paint  ). The other indicators which would tell us what year it was have been shaved off or replaced with Neon parts (interior).

The engine is........ .......not original. Looks like he kept the old roundtop SUs and put them on a FI L28? Not real sure WHAT some of that plumbing is, under there, and there are strings and wires running in directions where they shouldn't be doing anything......

I think this guy tried to make a Z look like the Ferrari 275 GTB. Instead he made it look like a carnival clown car.

$4000 for this piece of hacked up junk? It would cost 5 times that much to put it back together properly.

Nice work fellah. You've successfully killed another old Z, then QUIT your project. Thanks a lot.

Frank

Oh WOW! my uncle did that do his race-trim Corvair, never thought I'd see a Z like that. Can't say I'm happy with the result though.. :?

Lowered, widened, and with a LOT more body work it *might* look good... As a track car...

I remember seeing this car last year on another site when it was
still in dark gray primer. The comments on that site were also not
very flattering. Mine was one of them.

As a guy with auto body training, the first thing I noticed was the lazy
if not inept way the 5" chop was accomplished: he just dropped the
whole windshield area down below cowl level. The proper way to have
done it, would have been to splice in a section of roof and upper
door/window frame, thus extending the length of the roof so the wind-
shield could come down to the cowl at its original location. This would
also have necessitated cutting the windshield to fit the new opening, not
to mention cutting (if not custom making) window glass to fit.

But the main question I have is: where does rain water draining down
from the windshield discharge? Or rainwater flowing up over the hood
while underway? Into the footwell?

And then there is the issue of disturbing a dashboard which could have
been worth from $700 to $2000 depending on condition....................

As Morgan the Pirate would say: AAAAARRRRRRGGGGGGGHHHH!!!!!

I too remember that car Rick. I remember being blasted for saying almost word for word what you just described about the shoddy work done on that car.
People are so much nicer here!
