For those of our members too young to remember the racing days of the 1950s/60s, our NYZCC member Tommy Sullivan sends this video.

It helps us to appreciate the true value of the 240Z car. These were the street sportscars of the 1950s and 60s, in the days immediately before the Z was introduced.

You can picture in your mind's eye how much faster and more stable the Z was, compared to these Ships Of The Line, and appreciate why the Z was such a smash hit when it was released.

Carl Beck owns one of the first Baja Rallye Zs, which ate these cars alive.

I love seeing these old cars again, and hearing the old familiar names. Paddy Hopkirk in his Mini! Pat Moss in her Healey! And the hilarious complaints about those D**d Scandinavians being so bored at home that they had to bring their superior driving skills out to conquer the world!

And they did.
