A 17 year old blonde from Gering, Nebraska has won the MISS USA title. There must be something good going on out there in Corn County.

Congratulations to all our Nebraska members (1) for this victory. You are now well represented across the nation.

I will work hard to get Miss Teresa Scanlan to make a guest appearance at one of our Monthly Meetings this year. 8)
We can serve popcorn.

Frank

Frank, Teresa and her mother shop in my store on a regular basis in Scottsbluff which is connected to Gering by a bridge over the platte river. The two towns are 20' apart. She was in the store and I waited on her the same day she got on the plane to go to the Miss USA contest. She also went to Scottsbluff high school and was in several classes with my daughter who graduated last year. They know each other very well. She is as talented as pretty and having known her and her family for some time I can honestly say she is the real deal. She is as kind, smart and talented as they come. Unlike some beauty Queens there is nothing phony about her. If she were a car she'd be a Z!! :D
She's a good kid and I'm really happy for her. Now Nebraska will be on the map for more than Kool-aid!

Thanks for noticing! :D

Well, that's about the most solid endorsement anyone could ask for! It's one thing to think highly about someone because they are famous (or rich!), but it's the real deal if you appreciate them BEFORE they become household names!

Hey guyz ~ Wild Bill knows Teresa!
OK, so now we have an 'in' with Miss USA ~ it should be far easier to get her to make one of our meetings this year, right (BUDDY)? 8)

yeah I grew up in corn country....and there sure is a lot to be said for those corn-fed country girls. Their fathers have shotguns, but there's nothing like dating a healthy Norwegian farm girl who has a little agricultural experience....

No matter! Whichever it is, it obviously works! They've produced the most-beautiful, most talented, best-thinking 17 year old this year!

I'd love to have Wild Bill escort her to one of our meetings or events this year.

The more I think about this, the more I like it. While I'm sure Mz Scanlan will have a hectic year, you just never know. Maybe she'd be in NYC or somewhere close, and we could fly Wild Bill up (depending on his situation) so he could do just that. Mayhaps we could chip in and buy him a ticket or have some kind of club fundraiser. It'd be the meeting of the year!;much like when Thor was here!
I'm just sayin'...

Al

You should get her to show up at watkin's Glen, since datsun is the featured marque at this year's vintage race car weekend. I bet she'd look great in a nice tight BRE t-shirt.

Ummm......it would have to be a BSR shirt for this Club!

Ya know Al, the more I think of that, the better it sounds, too! I would love to meet Wild Bill and he's someone Teresa knows (and maybe trusts) and it would be cool to have them both get here to meet us. I would donate!

Mark, do we have a date on that Datsun weekend this year?

Frank

How wild would it be if it was the same weekend as the ZCCR gig?
