There is only one appropriate name for an unrestored Z owned by Mike Tubiak:

"1LUCKYZ"

Just one too many Ross but thanks!! Sometimes I feel more like the lucky one. That car brought me to you guys! A great family!! And Frank I like that one too. She really is a tank. I know it's not what purist Z owners like to see but like I have said before this just shows how great a car Nissan built. Im sure as I was driving past people in this past snow storm on Friday I'm sure everyone driving by me I'm sure was shocked and amazed.

Start buying stock in WD40 and spray the underside at regular intervals.

"RUZTED" 8)

Your Z makes people stop and pay attention to it, like Phil's does.
For some reason, people want to examine yr car and fantasiZe what they would do with it if it was theirs. Phil's ZX just draws people strangely, for unexplained reasons. After a monthly meeting, you can always see a bunch of members gathered at Phil's ZX. They're not all talking about his car, they just feel more comfortable near it for some reason. It's just a natural, silent gravitation to wherever he's parked it. I haven't figured it out yet.

Phrog's 280 does that too, when he brings it.

Sounds good Chris. Frank I still think about the white 280zx that go saved because of the couple seeing my Z at the club car show. I thought it was cool to think my Z could inspire another person. :D

I was being serious too. Its how my uncle cleans/treats the bottom of his 944 regularly. Of course, he doesn't drive it during blizzards. But it'll help.

At dawn today I went out to the garage, checked all the fluids and tire pressures in the Z and fired it up. I drove it up to Shelton and had it Dyno'd to test the new twin-cam head and individual injectors Vinny Bedini put on the car over Christmas. It made 271 rwhp @ 7500rpm and sounded fierce!

I took Rte 8 up to Lime Rock Park just as the sun was getting hot and never saw a cop anywhere. Traffic was light and I really opened it up thru the hills. I rolled down the window and hung my arm out and listened to my new stereo system and the snarl of the exhaust in 3rd gear. A cute little blonde wearing a halter top came alongside with the top down in a neat little Fiat 124 roadster, smiled and waved. She tried to keep up to my Z but I left her far behind with little effort.

At LRP they were having a maintenance day so no cars were running. I told them I was a member of the Club and a friend of Bob Sharp's. The staff let me run two free laps around the course and my Z never ran better! I was close to 01:07 sec, which would have beaten Bob's 1971 record time! I was pleased.

I walked around the infield and bought some ice cream for a pretty little brunette who admired my car, then I heard a familiar voice calling my name and saw beautiful Ginetta bouncing down the hill toward me, her big French/Italian smile welcoming me back to LRP. I ran to meet her.

Just as we met, my alarm went off and I remembered I have 3ft of snow to shovel today.

DANG! It had all seemed so real.

Frank

You should have stayed in bed with dreams like that! :D

Frank , things aren't much better here. I've got 16" of snow in the yard with temps overnight of -12 and windchills of -35. Yesterday we hit a high of 12 and today we are expecting a heat wave of 20 degrees. I know you got a bigger storm but we are really getting tired of winter. We've had 5 snow storms in 6 weeks. The funny thing is it will warm up above freezing for just long enough to melt the snow from one storm and we'll get hit with another.
The good thing is I get to drive the ZX year round if I want. They don't salt or use anything chemical in my area. They use sand and not much of that. They also keep the paths I take plowed really well. With a little weight in the back the ZX really does well in the snow. When it gets too deep I break out the 4wd pickup but then I miss my ZX all day!

I'm loving it. It's a time to relax, reflect on the past summer, and gear up for another. I'll admit the Z's do fairly good in the snow, it would for me have to be it's dedication, I would not take the 72 or 83 out until the salt is washed away. The Z31 unfortunately has to sit outside, but is far from the salty road, and the newer ones were a little better on rust protection. That's what the 4x4 Nissan truck is for now. Of course it don't look good anymore, so I'm looking at a BMW, go figure, then the rest of the money will go to my Z's. Yea, I just made twice the money I paid for the truck, (holds a good value,) and get to keep it, and it still works good. The other person who pulled in front of me, well, there car is totalled, unfortunately a Sentra, but the old Nissan trucks never cease to amaze me. GO Nissan.
