Two weeks ago, pain in leg, thought it was a muscle cramp, pinched nerve...Monday morning...leg was hot, red, and swelled up....went to the ER....

Found out I have http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Deep_vein_thrombosis . DVT..

And now I'm on meds to get the blood thin enough so if the blood clot breaks loose, I don't stop breathing.... 7 days off work, time to relax and try to recover...and survive.... (so far no erratic breaths or heart rate...so I think I'll be in the clear) And the clot will form into a scab on the vein in about 2 weeks, and I'll never have the same blood flow in the leg again...

And there might be a possibility that I'll get stuck taking blood thinners for the rest of my life...so I'll have to be careful not to cut myself...so that means a career change, and my car hobby will have to go out the window as well...

Or, the blood will thin the clot out, and it will pass thru the lungs painlessly...I hope, and I'll be fine for a while..... and I'll get in better health from this event. I already know what caused it, I sit in my chair in the garage funny for long times...and the right amount of pressure at the right length of time did it. I am very glad I quit smoking 3 months ago...that really helped.

So anyone here ever had these problems?

No, but any thrombosis also carries a threat of the dislodged clot traveling to your Brain Housing Group, where it could cause a stroke. Not a laughing matter, as I'm SURE your doctor told you. Don't massage your leg, since that's the primary way large clots get dislodged.
Do not ignore this, Clay ~ you're good with computers; maybe it's time to get an 'easy' job?

*(PS ~ I'm not a real doctor, I just play one on the internet. But I did stay at a Holiday Inn last night).

Last gf in Tx had one in the leg as well...serious stuff (altho I'd glady drop back down there to 'massage' it for her)
Think I'll spend less time in front of the pc...
What's the latest on the Webbers?

webber's need a re-jet and tune, something that's not in my budget anymore... and I really can't rev the car up like before... my deaf neighbor died, and a body building jock moved in. Plus the Z is just too loud for my wife. :(

Can't they just replace the vein? They can do that these days. Include Capsium in your diet, (Cayenne pepper) Well take it easy, and get well. If you need a get away, me and the wife have open our campsite to having guest, if you like camping. We have spare space for a few people, and we'll be there 10 days, leaving today. This is Bowdish lake in R.I., borders Conn. #'s for contact are 401-855-0342 or 401-787-0598 Paul & Patti. and our acommodations are comfy, I'm bringing the house with us. :D as far as the body builder, we'll just have to have a Z party and show him who rules.
