Clayton, sorry for the delay in posting these pictures. It was a fun day. Too bad the outcome wasn't what we all expected...

Great pics as always Phil.... 8)

If you want to take pics of a full swap-over...Me and Jack are going to hit the brown Z hard tomorrow... Remove and replace the diff, axles, all four struts, all 4 brakes, the 4 speed to a 5 speed, drive shaft, sway bars, install the header and exhaust tomorrow...

Wow - great pictures of what looked like a very fun day. Someday I plan to join you guys to supervise. I'll be the one sitting in the lawn chair drinking a cold one. :)

Hey Clay? Ross' last comment was the 1,000th entry to this Thread!

We've NEVER had that much traffic on a single subject before.

Wait ~ you're doing it today? I thought you said you would start this coming week?

I'll go back and read everything again ~ I must have missed something. (I can't be there today)

Got the rear end off...what a mutha... diff, shocks, brakes...all in one piece...

loosening the trany right now, and Sunday I got to drive to Greenich for some JDM foods. Monday I got to replace two brake lines that snapped off, plumb in the new fuel pump, wire it up to the switch, and start installing the stuff if I have time. Tuesday, will prolly be the final rear end installs and fab, Wednesday will be the exhaust and trany swap, thursday put the carbs on....and Friday start it up...

Then, that gives you next Saturday to take it out on the highway and see what falls off, right?

The rust on this car is 80% less...but it still has some...but weldable on the ground....I will tear it all apart in the fall and do a full rebuild so I can use rotis and do the full car right. Right now I'm just building it to drive for the summer.

Did I read correctly in these posts that one of you guys cleans and organizes garage/workshops for free for members? AWESOME!! Put me on the list. Our garage/shop is littered having just about finished up with the 70' restoration. Now comes the hard part - cleaning up and getting organized again for the 72' project.

Seriously, some day we hope to have such a wonderfully organized space like yours. Looks like you can really have some fun with the toys and, the best part, knowing where everything is!!

Regards,

Robin Foote

drive train 90% done...just got to hook up parking brakes, swap out the rear rotors with some new rotors, and pads, hook up the fuel pump electrically, install the header and exhaust, and then maybe monday toss the carbs on and hook up the MSD. If the motor runs, then swap out the seat, ad a roll bar...and get it registered.
