We've just been notified by a trusted member about a new computer virus which disguiZes itself as an Anti-Virus update.

Apparently you receive an EMail which reads something like "WINDOWS ANTI-VIRUS 2009 UPDATE", which seems to make sense because it's a new year. It even has an accurate counterfeit WINDOWS logo. But when you open it your files are destroyed (many gory details) and you have to shut your computer off manually from that point forward. The only remedy is replacing the hard drive and unless you have backup files you all know where that leaves you.

The victim who warned us of this had an updated McAfee anti-virus program in place at the time, and the virus just blew right though it.

ACHTUNG!
