See attached video - tells you how to check how old your tires are. Retailers are apparently selling tires as brand-new that are actually six or more years old. Ross

I wonder if the same code applies to Japanese tires? (AirJockie?)

Very important thing to know, for those who had no idea. That date code, is basically that, a code. Unless you know, it can't be figured out how old tires are. It's about time this is getting out to the public. I used to mention shelf life of tires, and people would just look at me with confusion and non belief. It used be 10 years, now 6 due to to many accidents happing because of this. Then you still have people going to the junk yard to buy tires, and who know's what your getting. It should be like cars, if not made that year, then they should be considered used, and discounted, at least after 3 years. Then you have the cheap tires vs the good tires, what about that. Shouldn't the shelf life be reduced? I would say so. I swear on Pirrelli's myself. Never had any problems, no matter how old they were, IMO. Other tires I've had would start to crack on the sides, and inbetween the threads. Other tires of choice are...Yokahama's, bridgestones, Goodyear, Uniroyal, and Michelins. IMO, they just seem to hold up better than most. Especially Firestone, Coopers, and all those odd brand name tires. So now that the Divinchi code is broken, may we all have a safe ride on the road.
