I'm growing pretty frustrated living here in CT. These folks don't make a whole lot of sense to me.
I just returned from a road trip to Virginia. As soon as I hit NY, the gas prices lowered a bit. In New Jersey, the prices were significantly less. In Virginia, fuel was $3.99/gal.
Much of the fuel we use in CT arrives tank-ready at the New Haven harbor. This is such a dinky state there can't be too much transportation cost involved in getting it 20-30 miles away from the harbor. And the fuel needs of this tiny area can't compare to the thirst of NJ or VA, much less NY. Certainly no obvious justification exists for the extravagant cost of our gasoline compared to our larger neighbors. Yet the farther away from CT we travelled, the less gasoline cost.
I suspect somebody decided "everybody in CT must be rich, so we can charge them more".
I'd like to meet that person, and be locked in an elevator with him for about 5 minutes. Heck, I'd settle for 3 minutes.
You guys traveling to CT from out of state for our car show need to know about this and fill up before you come here. DON'T give these bandits any of your money unless you have to.
Frank T :x Grrrrrrr!

CT did away with toll booths....but the state raised taxes on a gallon of gas to afford the upkeep of the roads and bridges.

NJ...tolls.
NY...tolls.
CT...no tolls.

And now CT wants to add another tax to the fuel economic cars and alternative energy cars...since they wont pay for the fuel taxes.....

I personnally think we should find a way to tax the people just passing through the state to help repair the roads!! Toll booths are a pain, but they sure do work at collecting money

OK Keith, show's over; I'm ready to start building the Flux thingy.

Can I borrow a roll of aluminum foil, 1/2 lb of enriched Uranium and some clothes pins, please?

:D
