Completely off the wall is the warning that this year has produced a much higher than average national auto/deerstrike count.
And November is, annually, the month of the highest number of incidents.
Whitetail deer rut and mate throughout all of November, which makes them run across roads and highways more often. Also, due to the Endangered Species Act, the national wolfpack count is much higher this year (and last year, and in 2021) than is has been recently. Wolves chase deer into panic scenarios which often lead across open roads or highways, where the deer hope to outrun the wolves across open ground. Wolves have also learned to let annual deer hunters become their friendly team mates; they know that hunters moving thru the woods will drive deer ahead of them, thereby exposing the deer more often during daylight hours. With hunters behind them and wolves around them, deer often resort to running across highways to escape.
Finally, the end of Daylight Savings Time inconveniently matches the evening rush hour with nightfall; that makes both deer and human traffic most-active at the same time.
Just one more really good reason to store the Z during the winter months, Ja?
Frank T

Very good information FT! Although when I first saw your post, I was worried that "FLSHBK" may have had an encounter with one of those critters. I recall our own Mike Winters had that experience a while back. Small car vs. large animal does not usually end well for both. I've had a few close calls over the years myself.

So far through my driving career, three Deer strikes...Not with the Z, thank goodness...
1. Volvo 122. North bound, Hammer lane on 684 NY State. Thanksgiving Eve, 10 pointer over the hood,
smashed into the wind shield and over the top. Glass shattered into a Kazillion pieces. NYS sent me a bill for the Deer!
2. Volvo 245. RT 7 just south of the Covered Bridge in Cornwall
3. Nissan Altima. RT 6 NY

I was about to say I don't believe NYS charged you for the deer, but I actually do.

You are more effective than some hunters I know. Believe I saw a reissue of a story on dyno testing in Grassroots magazine that showed your yellow car without the deer decals. Have a good winter.

Yes, spoke to Tim Suddard, he is looking for additional photos from that dyno session.
Great photo of John Williams who did the final tuning.

Just noticed Tom W. posted in the comments on that article. Thanks Tom.
Bruce, we will need to circle back to my old Bugeye search, I will back track our emails to see where we left off.

Colin,
