Off the coast of Portugal's Azores, a cargo ship filled with $400 million dollars worth of new luxury Porsches headed for the USA is ablaze. The entire crew has abandoned ship and firefighter ships are making their way thru the sea to help kill the fire.

Well, it appears they've lost this fight.
Altho the fires burned themselves out over a week, tugs were towing the Panamanian-registered Felicity Ace back to land when it sank. 1,100 new luxury Porsches, 189 Bentleys and a slew of VWs are now sitting at the bottom of the North Atlantic. Lithium fires can't be extinguished with water, so they just had to burn themselves out. Some of them melted holes in the hull which doomed the ship. All the cars were toast, anyway.

it sure makes me think twice about parking a lithium battery car in my garage.
