Good video. Our German member Thor Link produced a full-length video documentary of the pursuit of the World LSR just last year. He covers this intense competition btwn Rosemeyer and Carraciola in detail, but also interviewed family members of American and British LSR holders as well. The competition btwn Mercedes and AutoUnion (later Audi) was a matter of great national pride for Germans during the 1930s and after. There is a memorial plaque to Rosemeyer at a point along the Autobahn btwn Darmstadt and Frankfurt in Hessen, which I intend to visit and photograph next year. Frank |
