You should focus on one car, lol. Or your Z will get mad at you. And you don't want that...

Phrog is absolutely right. Zs are VERY jealous creatures. I always know when mine is upset over some attention I paid to other cars. It's in their nature.

It's a mystery, but very real. I'm sure everyone has his own story about this. It's like trying to cheat on your girlfriend. You will eventually get caught and have to pay the price.

I blame my motorcycle currently. Ever since I got it back and started using it as my DD for school and such is when my Z issues exploded.

Here's another way to look at it, in terms of practicality:

You can have one project car or two. On a limited budget, you will have to split your funding and time between two project cars. Not only will your attention be less focused, but you will end up with two half-finished cars or two cars that are built about halfway to where you want them to be. Or you'll end up with one finished car and another that sits there and does nothing but rot, all the while you're wishing you had the money you used to purchase it to instead go into the other car.

An old friend told me once, "don't fall in love with every car you see." and he was right. I like ALOT of other cars, not as much as Datsun, or if I did, too much money to buy anyways. So one day about several years ago I called the scarp yard to come pick up my Jaguar XJS, Porsche 924 and a Honda accord, (all registered on the road decent cars,)took my $1,000 credit and felt a freedom of a sort, and the Z cars took there place, and glad I stick with one car. But all to there own, just my thoughts.

Paul, you are a lot more courageous, or practical, or something,
than I am. I couldn't have done what you did. I guess I am just the
stereotypical "pack rat" they always talk about. But I also have a lot
of experience in discarding something, then needing it a week later
and having to go buy it again.

On top of it all, I am a collector. Coins, stamps, baseball cards.............
basically anything that is collectible................I even collect dust when
I sit still long enough.................
