Really don't want one, but don't need to get pulled over either.
Does anyone have a strong preference for the type of mount to buy, or can it be a hardware store bolt job mounted on the black plastic below the bumper?
The irony is...........one of the senior cops in Westport has a newish blue Vette with a virginal front bumper and no plate. If our heroes pull me over, I'm going to pay the ticket by sending an electric drill to the cop with the Vette. If I go down, he goes down.

Good Luck with that . . . . . remember he has friends in the right places to get away with that.

Regardless what kind of mounting hardware you use, either a Bob Sharp Datsun license plate frame, or a CTZCC frame would do nicely.

I bought my parents a mounting kit from Courtesy Nissan a while back that mounted in the grill so you didn't have to drill into the bumper cover. Unfortunately it is NLA. I did find this though. It is a mount that screws into the tow hook location.

But like mentioned before put a better frame on it....

Here is a cheaper one.

A "universal" plate bracket from your nearest auto parts store plus two 4 inch toggle bolts. Attach to grill. Total cost about 5 bucks. Done.

Well, I didn't go the toggle bolt route. Coughed up $86 for the Stillen mount. Too much money for a bolt with a few screws and a bracket, but it is a perfect fit, looks good and saved the bumper.
By the by............if you ever get pulled over at a Westport radar trap, tell the cop that you think it's time Officer Bill Harsche drilled the front bumper of his Vette and stuck a plate on. In fact, rather than give you a ticket, he might forget about the transgression before you call the Mayor's office to get that Vette drilled

I like the hook plate idea very neat and does save the bumper. I also like your push for equality. That's how it should be.
