Has anybody ever changed their steering wheel on a Z31 to something besides OEM? How much of a pain/project is it? |

Yup. It's easy! Just got to make sure you have the correct hub for the aftermarket wheel to fit right. Took me about 10 minutes. |

Any chance you know what the "correct hub" is? |

Each brand of wheel will have many hubs to fit various different cars. Each brand has their own internal part #s. Best bet is to go to the manufacturer's website and search their application guides. |

Aha! Thank you for a starting point. I'm considering a light-colored wood grain replacement. I'm not a big fan of the OEM, and it's got it's fair share of wear(ware??). The wood should go well with the tan interior. Thanks! |

I think Grant makes a bunch of wood grain wheels. I'm running a Momo wheel. |

Hmm. I'll check them out. I've looked at Nardi (super pricey) and NRG (not so bad). I've heard good things about Momo. |

I have a used Nardi wood rim wheel, which I found didn't fit my 1970 240Z after I bought it. The box lists a bunch of Zs the wheel was supposed to fit, and my car was on the list. The wheel came off a 1971 Z but it just won't match the unique splines on the '70 steering shaft. Might fit yours, tho. Frank |

Frank, Do you know the name of the model or any pictures? I can try to look it up to see if it will fit. Filipe |

I'll dig it out of the garage today and respond. |

The wheel only lists S30 cars, and a few overseas Datsuns/Nissans I've never seen here in the states. Says it should fit mine, but it doesn't. Sorry bud. |

Frank what does the nardi wheel look like? A lot of these wheels have separate wheel parts and hub parts. I.e. a nardi wheel is interchangeable with all nardi hubs (unless it's some kind of 1-piece design). Does it have the 6 small bolts in the center of the wheel around the horn button? Those bolts attach the wheel to the hub. If Filipe really likes that wheel he can always buy a hub separately |
