Post subject:  Z31 Rear Hatch Struts + Carpet Preferences

Hi all,

My rear struts are shot. Does anybody know where I can grab new ones? I know RockAuto sells them, but the only rear ones they sell are for the 2+2. Do sizes vary between the 2+2 and 2+0?

Also, where's everyone's favorite place for carpet. I've got some nasty stains on mine, and unless there is a magical formula that will clean it out, it needs replacing.

Thanks!

The whole carpet kit is removable from the S30 series, maybe from yours, too. If so, any mom & pop upholstery shop can deep clean them better than you can, and maybe well enough to save you from buying a new set.

No ideas on the other questions.

I bought a rear deck carpet for my 280ZX on ebay from a vendor named autointeriorkits. Very good quality, perfectly matching the color and fabric of the original. Perfect cut and binding, and the price was right - about $100 as I recall. He gets lots of good reviews. Better than trying to search out an old Nissan original because fabric rots over time.

I bought just the rear deck carpet for the 280ZX 2+2. It fit perfectly and the edge binding was excellent. Just needed to unscrew the retaining strips on the seat backs to fit it in. Only criticism - it was not cut with the two slits that accept the luggage tie-down straps, but who cares so long as the carpet is the right color, fabric and fits right? The guy also sells a complete carpet kit at a good price, and based on my experience, it should be excellent. He has it up on ebay.
