I'm in the process of stripping my 240 in preparation of painting it myself this spring. My plan is to use an uncommon PPG color used on a 2011 Italian exotic. I have the paint code but rather than walk into a paint store and have them quote an exotic price I'd like to have the mix list in my hand so I can do some comparison shopping.

PPG keeps their mix sheets tightly controlled...I tried getting an account from the link below to let me view their sheets but was told I have be an actual paint store or body shop.

http://www.ppg.com/coatings/refinish/en/colortools/retrieval/Pages/030_onlineColor.aspx

Do we have anyone in the club with connections to the paint or body shop world who might be able to wrangle me a mix sheet?

Bryan,

Are you sure they'll give you an exotic price just because the color is from an exotic car? I know some colors are more expensive than others (reds, etc) and metallics can cost more too. If you want to call a shop in far away New York, the guys at ARF in Poughkeepsie are great. I've done a few projects through them.

What paint line are you going with? Is it water borne or solvent?

Good luck with your project
Mike

Was just a thought, I don't really think the car brand makes a difference unless you get the dealer to do the paint job, heh.

I'm going with a single-stage urethane. The price at the shop I went to in Bridgeport for their 'good' Dupont was $279 a gallon with "everything". When I asked about their budget line they said about $170 a gallon.

TCPglobal.com has some great prices $139 a gallon kit, but for a paint sample/chip they charge $34(!)ea. I'm not sure how they expect people to buy paint off the internet sight unseen...trusting their computer monitors....

Nationals aren't until August, so I do have time to figure it out.
