Hi!

I am pretty much done with the timing belt service on my car. I am waiting on some more parts to arrive that I want to replace. In the meantime I decided to re-do the paint on the plenum cover. Here are some photos that I snapped to share!

As clean as I could get:

Nice work.

I've often wondered why people don't use this cover as a front plate or something? Sort of order a new one at NISSAN or grab one from a wrecked Z31 or something. Maybe mount it on a plaque as a farewell gift to some Z-head?

You have to admit it has potential.

Thanks! It was kind of a pain to get the old paint off, but overall it was a very fun and relaxing side project.

The non-turbo covers go for pretty cheap (~$20). The turbo covers are sometimes a tad bit more ($25-$30 ish?) because people that bolt on turbos to their NA z31's like to 'upgrade'. I know that people with Z31s like to upgrade their plenums (gutted pathfinder plenum comes to mind). Most of the ones I've seen don't put the plenum cover back on so maybe it doesn't fit? Anyway there seems to be a steady stream of plenum covers for sale over on z31performance.

It's all aluminum so it's quite lightweight, so I think it would be pretty good for decorative purposes, Frank. I bet you can find them in junkyards pretty easily too.
