I finally received my rear lamp frames newly chromed (actually not chromed but metalized in vacuum with finest aluminum particles, then clear coated) They look pretty good now :)

Oh, these were done in Italy. Long story made short: I've done business there regularly and took the parts with me once and had them done for about 200euros including 9 wheel hub badges (but those I don't recommend with this system for a serious restorer as the badges have very fine texture behind the "z" - very hard to achieve in this system because the parts must be primered and the texture would be lost under the paint. I plan to try to redo the texture somehow before applying clear orange resin over the textured area just as it was in the original piece..) However, clean, simple parts like the lamp frames aren't too hard although require very good finish (primer rubbed down to I think 2000 otherwise scratch marks will be visible).
I had already taken these to Italy when I learnt about a guy who does this not too far from where I live in Finland for similar price.

I am sure there are companies that master this technique in the good old America.

Bear in mind that the result is not quite as durable as real chrome. Durability is more like in automotive paint really because the clear coat used is automotive grade. You shouldn't try to polish this with a chrome polisher..
For me this was such a great thing to find as I really really could not accept the frames being painted. I just wanted the chrome look. And this is exactly like chrome.

Very nice indeed!
I remember your thread about this and a test bleach worked well.
Going for the blackout look so I'll post at that point.
Happy Holidaze in advance.
