I'm wondering if that would have any effect on the amount of exhaust fumes pulled back into the cabin?

Datsun Tail Lamps are a classic heritage trait that made its way all the way through the Z line to the Z32.

There ain't no replacement.

Go buy a 70 Camaro if you want those taillights. It will be cheaper than a proper conversion and the associated body work and paint.

Well I understand what your saying and respect your opinion but you have people putting chevy v8's in Z cars. The Z car has always been powered by a 6 cylinder. So going by what you said if we wanted an 8 cylinder we should just get a Mustang or a camaro?

It sorta reminds me of a late 60s/early 70s Dodge Challenger. And this was usually the view I got of them.

Not personally my cup of tea, but it has been done by a couple of folks over at Hybridz.org...

http://forums.hybridz.org/showthread.php?t=96102

And I recall seeing a couple of other examples over there - just try the search function.

Hope that helps...

i really liked seeing it finished on the HybridZ site. it looks cool. and since it's 70's tail lights it still fits the time period. and i don't think it's fugly i think it's B A

Yea!

But I guess I'd allow a VH45 if you REALLY wanted an 8 cylinder.

Guess I have to say something, too. (What else is new?)
If I had to go GM (don't get me started!) I would rather go w/ the
taillights from a '67-'69 Camaro or better yet, a Firebird. The
horizontal motif would blend better w/the lines of the car. But
frankly, my real viewpoint is just keeping the classic design, the
way it was designed. FWIW,...............Rick

I don't typically like that style on the back of a Z, however, if you take the time to fabricate some sort of rear grill in the dead space between the lights, it might work. Like a Ferrari.
