I'll admit I like the look of the round tail lights but one of the nicest conversion jobs I have seen was over on hybrid using a set of(IIRC '05ish) mustang tail lights. They matched the contours and lines and are similar in shape but did a great job of cleaning up the area.

These don't look bad, either!

The 1968 Dodge Charger lights would probably fill the rear valance nicely, but WHAT AM I DOING??? Why would I advocate changing the look of a Z CAR???

Airjockie, funny you posted that. I had the thought of the old skyline or R32 round lights working as well.

No wonder why, the mustang tails in progress were actually buried in a thread started by somebody musing over the round skyline tails

The guy working on em still hasn't finished the swap but IMO it cleans up the rear end nicely. Also has a picture of them swapped into an S130 car :)

Here's a link to Zcar.com discussion regarding the mustang taillights.

The recepient is a 280zx though...and they do look nice. They give the back end a more modern look and matches the more modern 280zx lines. I wonder how they would like on a series 1.

yeah it looks sweet. i also like Frank's idea of 69 charger lights but i think they might be too wide.

Yup, thats the same ZX that has a guest appearance in the thread I posted. You can also get an unfinished rough idea of what the they look like in a series 1 car.

I though back in the day MSA sold direct bolt in taillamps with the 2 round lights, or someone did. I like the round style myself, but also the stock look, so I'm bias.
