What is everyone's Favorite Z color?

Right now mine is Maroon and the paint is shot so I'm thinking about turning it Silver, or Dark grey... any thoughts?

Haha! This question has been asked so many times in here, we could cut and paste some of the responses

Z colors are as subjective as neckties ~ no matter what anyone else says, you'll get what you like best.

For my money, the very greatest combination Datsun ever came out with was the British Racing Green with a tan interior.

My car was originally Silver. I repainted it metalflake Copper with black interior, which was totally unique at that time. Fewer than 8 months later Datsun released the next year's model with almost the exact same shade!

I had a totally unique 240 for less than a full year ~ then EVERYBODY owned one the same color.

At our First Annual Z Car Show last June, we all fell in love with a 1976 Series-1 car painted Lime Green, with wire wheels. It took Best in Show against some very tough competition.

The Z car lends itself well to almost any color scheme. The only one I've ever seen which I DIDN'T like is my own ~ I sold it and found it again 23 years later, painted Mazda Miata blue. I can't wait to repaint it.

You can get some good paint ideas by looking thru the pictures of the nearly 70 cars which attended our Jun08 car show. In "UPCOMING EVENTS", find the thread entitled 'thanks for a great car show'. Be sure to follow Phil Parent's links on the second page ~ it was his first event as our official Club Photographer, and he did a great job!

I think anything in the silver range of colors looks good in my opinion. I had wanted to paint mine graphite but I had to go with a lighter shade of silver. I was my own bodyman so I had some flaws that would have stood out with a darker color . So for me my choices were limited to the lighter shades . In all I can't think of a bad color for a Z just those I like more than others . Jim

I agree with Frank. Nothing beats British Racing Green!

s30's look great in hot colors.. eg red / orange..
Dark colors look great too eg, blue black.
Yellows and whites look too standard.

personally, rear light assembly should never be painted the same color as the car... Black if the car is a hot or light color. and factory grey if its a dark colored car...
