well I stared at the front of my 85' Z and did not like the lip kit i bought for it about a year ago. I really liked the bumper covers they made for the z32 model's. so i bought a greddy facia. So in my fabricating nature i just started cutting.
My plan is to make a mold of the front bumper with the fenders as 1 piece.
right now i have filled the voids with pink insulation foam from home depot and bondo.
In the next few months I plan on making a mold of the finished bi-product (the negative or um... production mold) and using that to create the final 7 layer 1 piece fascia-fender nose.

here is what i got so far. its not as easy as i thought to get both sides to look the same. But my father does body work for a living so he said i can get it close and he will make it perfect if i cant do it myself.

adding the stock z31 body lines is a must to make this project look complete. so i will be sanding them in later on.

Got this CF hood to add more sexiness!

I will keep this updated as i make noticable changes. :o

Lookng good! It is a hard thing to pull off with the 80's body lines of the Z31 but you're doing a great job! Hey if the production version comes out good count me in for one. Keep us posted....

Stunning so far, and it isn't even finished yet.

I've always pictured the grille of a Z car modified with the "upper lip" of an Aston Martin ~ it would certainly turn heads, but nobody would be sure what it was.

With the black bumper and silver grille, my old '70 reminds me of a '55 Chevy!

Frank, I know I've asked you this before, but I forget, are you planning on repainting lil miss 02807 to the original silver?

No, I want to try Pearlescent Pewter this time. Deeper than silver, but changes shade as you pass it, like an oyster shell.

Pearescent paint cost $100 per PINT. But it looks as if RB Dave's car is gonna look better than mine, no matter what I do.

Be patient, my friend, and take heart knowing your car is simply getting more and more valuable each hour it sits there.

Well it looks very nice and it isn't even done yet. I await the final product. Just make sure your wearing a mask when your sanding that stuff. It will hep insure you get to see the final product. Cool. Keep up the innovative work.

Looks sort of like an early 80s Camaro, doesn't it?

No need to apologiZe to us Dave ~ life happens to each of us.

We're patient (and we have plenty of our own problems with our own cars to keep us busy until your Z is ready).

Just satisfy yrslf with the thought that your Z is growing in value every month you own it, and every week you don't drive it means a few hundred miles of wear it ISN'T suffering.

Someday we'll all cruiZe together ~ be patient.

Frank
