Hey guys, I'm looking for a good running complete 280zx 2+2 with a good interior that may be too far gone rust wise. I'm looking because I have a very clean shell that I would like to transfer everything over to. Thanks!

Do you care if it's a turbo or not?

Hey Frank, I dont care if it is or not. I'm hoping to find a car that has been cared for but maybe is too far gone with rust to fix. Or maybe even totaled

I know the interior parts for the 2+2 models are very different from the standard coupes, but do you know if they differ btwn years? In other words, could you mount a 1981 2+2 body onto a 1980 2+2 car, etc?

I'm gonna try to drag some zx owners onto this thread.

The very final Datsun z cars in existence will probably be 2+2. Because they were ore of a family car, they didn't get modified or raced as much as the coupes (though Bob Sharp raced a 2+2 for a full season and broke some of his own track records in it).

Bring them in! I'm sure someone has been holding on to their baby even though its too rusty to repair. This car could be pretty special if i find a good donor. If I figure out how to upload a picture I'll give you a sneak peek

If it is just interior panels, all years will fit. 79-83. I would go for the 82-83 if you can find the suede leather combo. The only interior parts that will fit from a coupe is the dashboard and panels underneath and I think the targa panel, above your head. Seats will fit your 2+2. Hard pieces to find will be the far back tail light panel, and the left side next to it. If your dash has some cracks that can be covered up with a dashmat for cheap until you find one, not easy either.

Luckily my dash is perfect, but the rest of the interior is missing, I forgot to mention it has t tops, but if I find a complete running car that doesn't have the t tops I can look for that stuff separately

I think I have 1 T-top for a 2+2 and maybe the bags. What you you need to do is join zcar.com and place a wanted add there and see also what is in the for sale section. You can also go on craigslist in the auto parts section from state to state, city by city. Northern states first for interior parts. Southern states first for body parts.

What is this Facebook you speak of?   Craigslist is good, but you literally have to go state to state, town by town. On zcar.com there is a beautiful 2+2 for sale in AZ. That's Jamal and he might have some parts. I think is handle is Borini.

wow that car is way to nice for my plans. A quick way of searching craigslist is using searchtempest.com once you set your search criteria you can open every location on Craigslist at once, its usually about 28 tabs lol.

No luck yet, I drove up to NH to look at a Craigslist car. He was asking quite alot but the car barely drove and most of the major systems including brakes, power steering, and suspension and engine were very tired. The only good thing was the interior. Definitely not road worthy so the search continues
