Good to hear from you Seth. How are the kids?
I tried cutting one of those off a 1971 car with a sawZall and gave up after my second pack of blades. About 4 layers of sheetmetal join there from different directions, all folded together around the rear curves, making it a week-long project at least. If I ever have to try it again I will use a torch.

Hey Frank,

All well here with the family so far with all of the "fun" going on in the world.

Yeah I imagine its a bear to get out. I've seen most people cut out the rear quarters part of them to get them out sometimes. Do you have one?

Oh dear...!

Once you've driven a converted LT1 you are hooked for life, I suppose.

(There are better ways to hold those sugar scoops onto the fenders....)

Haha yes I know. I was doing some test fitting and was too impatient for bolts. I went 5.3 LS this time

Hey Frank,

Missed this message. Sorry.

I ended up using what I had and putting it back into shape to the best of my abilities.

I love your dedication to this cars future life. I sure hope you move the gas tank before welding to ensure your future life. BTW, is that a 240Z gas tank? It doesn't look like the one in my 71Z which I am intimately familiar with due to some recent fuel delivery issues I have had. .

Good luck. I hope to see the completed car some day!

Its a tank from an LS powered Camaro to feed the 5.3 engine that's up front

Makes sense. Will you have to cut into the spare tire well to make it fit?

So you know Dave up by you restoring Z's, It's a small world. I told him you were looking for that piece because he is buying a 240 parts car from me and that section is perfect.
