If that's the part I think it is, we colloquially call them Cats Whiskers. Here's an older thread about them:

Yeahhhhh......if I remember correctly, these two parts screw together into the door top. The whiskers are replaceable but the tiny screws are a PITA to manipulate. You're right to ask around for any used ones. I had no idea they have become so expensive already.
