Hello everyone,
I was told that there is someone on this forum that has a 3d printer and makes early 240z inspection lid clips. I just bought a 240 and mine is missing the clips. Would like to buy a set or two.
Thanks
Brian

At this time the 3-d printer production of these clips is still in development. Family issues have interfered with the schedule. Keep your finger on the pulse here and it will be announced as soon as they have been successfully produced and are made publicly available.

The average price is hovering around $25 each for the neoprene clips at this point. The 3-D manufacture of them is expected to ease that pain somewhat. I have a couple of the unused neoprene units if you're really desperate and don't want to wait for the paper units to be ready. I can remember when these neoprene units cost about $.17 each and came in bags of 10. They broke so often, we threw a handful of them into the glovebox and changed them like fuses.

In order to need these, you must have a late 1969 or early 1970 240Z. What VIN, if I might ask?

I will send you a private message and contact so you can purchase the clips you need.

Wow, thanks Joe! Never heard of www.240Zrubberparts.com before. I will add them to our growing list of parts resources here on the Club website. They represent the very first place I have EVER seen those clips made commercially available since they went out of stock in the Datsun supply line, and they total out to only $10 per clip ~ a far better deal than the handmade white neoprene units @ $25 each.

BTW, I have recently received word that the project to reproduce these clips using a 3D paper printer will not go forward. The guy who intended to produce them has sold his 1970 Z, so he has no further need for them. Not a single clip was made and my original clip, sent as a template, has been returned in 'new' condition.

Frank
