I'm curious if anyone out there has a mint 280zx that they're considering selling. Preferably turbo, but not a necessity. Something that needs no work, and has no leaks or other problems. Anyone?

If your looking into a 280zx, IMHO the 82-83 turbos with T-tops is my # 1 choice. There was a white one on craigslist in R.I. or Mass. I forget. Seek, and you shall find.

*(Just a kwik note about RIF's car ~ it took a trophy at last year's Annual Z Car Show, against some really amaZing competition. This is a car worth pursuing if you want one of the best.

Just don't bang it up! :x )

Hi - Sure, if you could give me his/her contact info that would be great... it sounds much more reasonable than what I've been finding lately.

There is a 10th ann. for sale in R.I. CL, looks mint for $7,200. I would jump on this.

I think its safe to say that any car that old is going to be a project. Or a beater that you're just going to run into the ground (if its even drivable).

As long as it's not body work. Of course you never know until you actually look at it. Well, anyways, there are alot out there, just have to look. Seek and and you shall find.

Keep in mind, the only advantage of a 79 is the extra window switch and the speedometer that says 120, but can't do it. 79 was a dog year for power, hi emission engine. If you realy want a ZX, try and find a turbo with t-tops and leather, preferably the 82-83. 81 is ok, but comes automatic unless someone swapped it, and a slight bit less luxurios, if that suits you, but what ever suits your needs. Saw some in Virginia CL.

Hi Smashbar:
"Mint" may carry slightly different connotations/meanings for different people. If you are really looking for a 280ZX that is MINT in the Museum sense of the word - and one that carries a very interesting history... how about the prototype for the "280ZX Black Gold" promotional vehicles? All Black with Gold Pin Stripping done by Nissan Motors.

1979 280ZX 2+2 with 7K original miles. Purchased directly from Nissan Motors, by the man that produced several Bob Sharp Racing video's for BSR and Nissan. Bob Sharp gave the owner a set of Gotti Gold Wheels as a present, and they are still on the car.

$20K makes it yours... {if it is still available}.

Sorry for the bad picture...
FWIW,
Carl B.

hi all,

saw this on CL, posted in Pheonix, Arizona, might be worth a look! Probobly get it shipped for $800.....I'm getting ready to get my 300 painted.....fixed all the rust in the rear fenders. Running like a champ, except that my rear caliper is "frozen" shut, and making the car work harder.....got new brake pads and calipers to put on tomorrow...BigGar
